Kingston, N.Y.
Kingston, N.Y. is the city I grew up in. Founded in 1652, it has a long history of being a place of hard-working Americans. Originally, it was founded by the Dutch who called the area Wiltwyck, meaning "wild woods." Later it was N.Y.'s first capital. I have fond memories of being young in this quaint city. Many, many times I have been back there (as my family still lives there) and drove around to the various parks, shopping centers and schools remembering my fun and often crazy childhood. My mother and father still work there. Even though many of my extended family (Aunts, Uncles and Cousins) have moved out of the area, they all seem to migrate here like me once in a while as if some magical force beckons them back. Please visit the Kingston, N.Y. website to see all this very historic city has to offer and if you're ever in the area, it's Exit 19 off the N.Y. State Thruway, 90 or so miles from NYC.
